Remote turn on

I am going to use 12v accessory plug to turn on my amps. However, I am not sure which wire is the hot one. I would expect it to be the black one but I thought I read somewhere here that it is the green one.

Please help.

It's the wire connected to the center conductor of the 12v plug, the outer conductor is the ground

Exclamation Maybe I'm getting old, but.....

If you have two wires - a ground, the other is 12v switched, and you can't tell which is which?

...you probably should not be installing your own amp.

Just my opinion.
