Red interior lights..

well, thanks to this thread: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ght=dome+light and mazurfer's help I ordered replacement lights for the interior... all red LEDs. figured I'd post pictures of the results.... I'm quite happy with the way it turned out. I also have Rotary Rasp's footwell lights found here: https://www.rx8club.com/group-buy-center-85/custom-led-footwell-lights-118507/

Very sweet looking...already have a set of red footwell lights, but now im def going with all red lights

Is there any silicon red covers you can put over the bulb to achieve the same effect, like they do in the honda start button?

thanks. I considered the white, I knew I coudnt go with blue (didnt want to at least) since I have the black/red interior and then with the red footwell lights it seemed like it would match and I'm quite pleased with the result... was worried it might be a bit much red at first but since the bulbs totaled to be like $17 I figured I could replace them with white later.

not too sure about the covers... switching out the bulbs was quite cheap and easy though. any reason you'd prefer the covers?

it'd probably take just as much effort unless the covers were pre-fitted... most of them you just take a screwdriver and pry gently and the cover pops out, switch the bulb then pop it back in. Only the front lights required me to actually remove the unit but once I saw how to do that it only took about 5 minutes.

I havnt switched the trunk light yet... Considering going with white in the trunk just because it offers more visibility... but blue might work as well since there isnt any red back there. I have my polished zex tank mounted back there so pretty much any color works with that. who knows, I'll have to think about that one lol.

Depending on where you plan on putting them, Gel filters for theatrical lighting would get the job done. Ordering red bulbs is probably the better way to go about things though.

Looks good!
Wait...did I just get a prop from someone?

Glad I could help and lead you off in the proper direction.....IMO.
In terms of the trunk...........I did away with the little plastic white cover and just stuck another VLED in there. I had a bright white VLED in there for awhile, but as you know the rest of my car is all blue lighting, so I chose to go with blue in the trunk as well.

Here's my list right now.............see...............https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...58587#poststop

I still like the look of LED's over painted or colored lenses.............and VLED's FTW!

Fortunate Few...............loose that air freshener please!
