How do you remove the inteiror dome light?

Just wondering if anyone can give me an idea on how to remove the interior dome light. There's no screw whatsoever. Do I have to pry it open?

If you are talking about the one in the rear, then "yes" you need to pry it open from the front edge.....carefully. I would use a plastic screw driver or at least wrap the screw driver with a rag or something. Get the front edge out and then the rest will just pop out.
If by chance you mean the map lights in the front, then that's a different story. Those do have screws(in the sunglass holder I believe) and then some prying, but you can really jack up your headliner if you don't know where the tabs are that you need to kinda push in.

If you're talking about the lens, it just pops off.

I am refering to the middle section not the map lights. Reason is I need to see if there is a lose wire or something that is causing some annoying rattle.
So the tip is pry the front edge first eh?

if you get right under the lens and look up you'll see an area that looks like a quarter would fit into it. Use a plastic pry tool to just gently pop it off.

Hardest lens I've found to pop off was the glove box light... that was a PITA all the way.

while we're semi on the topic do you guys think its possible to get a colored (red) bulb for rear light? Also do you think it would be too cheesy, im going to be getting either footwell lamps or neon lights installed. so i want everything to match.

it'll probably get annoying after a while seeing everything red.

Oh..you're an addict now. If you are talking about that same dome light, then the answer is "yes". I get all my LED's and bulbs from http://www.frickinbrite.com/catalog/ Mine is blue but I think they have red as well. Before someone goes off on me, I bought most of these in packs of ten just to try some out and well...one thing led(no pun intended) to another.

Think I wrote in on another thread somewhere, but here's what I have done so far.

Parking lights.......white 6 LEDs http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...products_id=48

Clear Corners.......white 6 LEDs http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...products_id=48

Door Courtesy lights.........blue 6 LEDs http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...products_id=49

Map Lights..........blue 5 refractor LEDs http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...products_id=68

Rear Dome..........blue festoon/LED http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=288

Glove..............blue 6 LEDs http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...products_id=49

Footwells, have two blue LED circuit boards each side(driver and passenger), these are a little more subtle that what you've probably seen.
http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=243

Under the front seats(near the rear), I have RR's blue circuit boards tied into the Courtesy and Footwells above.
https://www.rx8club.com/group-buy-center-85/custom-led-footwell-lights-118507/

Turn signals.........Stealth bulbs for now. http://www.stealthauto.com/Departmen...lth-Bulbs.aspx

Inside Trunk.....blue 6 LEDs http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...products_id=49

License plate......white 6 LEDs http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...products_id=48

Brake lights........18 LED 7440/7443 red http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=305

Back up lights.........18 LED 7440/7443 white http://frickinbrite.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id=304

Fog lights...........Hoen H11's. This isn't where I bought them, but see............ http://www.hoen-usa.com/guide.htm

Puddle lights courtesy of Shazbot. https://www.rx8club.com/group-buy-center-85/custom-led-puddle-lights-118822/ BUT.....I did change out the LEDs to match those in the door courtesy light position.....see above.

RX8Strakes Stealth brake light. http://www.rx8strakes.com/index.asp?...PROD&ProdID=31

Next up, I'm after all the dash and radio leds to blue, but that's gonna be a bitch! Unless I get Lurch to do it!

I think that's it unless I forgot something?

Yes, I am sick!

I didn't use the ones that you have as footwells because I thought those were too much. Having said that, if you use the leds I used above(but in red) and put them in the doors.....with the oem lenses, I think you'd be pleased. They aren't that bright, so I don't think it would be too much.

Believe me...........I didn't want my interior over powering by any means and I'm very happy with the result.

If I can get my camera working again, I'll try to take some pics................but remember I am blue.

thanks! didnt realize you did color (even though you clearly stated it ) I considered blue for the foot wells... but I have the black/red interior and just thought red seemed more appropriate. Not sure what all lights I'd wanna switch out but I'm thinking about it and have an interest in at least the door lights I think.

You pretty much have to go red as you well know.

v-leds for all your light needs.

And for the parking lights.. yeah.. total PITA. I found that a good set of hemostats work wonders for getting them into place and helping with turning them tight.

You gotta put the same LEDs you used in the parking lights into some clear corners!
Our cars are starting to match!

Hey MazSurfer. Did you have to add some kind of relay or such for your turn signals / tail lights etc, so they didn't blink rapidly?

we're twinsies!

The pics I posted are clear corners. I removed the reflector inside and used 194 stealth bulbs. Clear and smooth during the day, amber at night.

Oh.......I said screw it and went with 194 white VLEDs in the corners, and they are the same as my parking lights. No issues with the cops here in Florida so far.
I do have the Stealths in all the turn signals though.....both front and back.

My turn signals aren't LED's, I went with Stealth bulbs, so I have no issues there.
Back up lights and tail lights are LED's, but kinda unique right now.......see the post below.

Here's what I currently have:
