really stupid amp problems

alright... its taken me almost two months, but i finally got my system put in my 8! i have a 6-speed with the stock deck still installed, a JL 8"W7, and a JL 500/1 monoblock amp. the install went smoothly, except for at circuit city, they refused to fully install my remote bass control. aside from that, everything is connected as it should be. but theres a problem, it doesnt bump nearly as much as i want it to. the subs already broken in, so i think it has to do with all the retarded ***** on the amplifier. could someone help me out with this? please? i have no idea what they should be set to (by that i mean all of them). if its not that though, what could the problem be?

the install isnt too flashy, i didnt do any kind of custom **** to it... im going to try to get some pictures up tomarrow, though. But if anyone could help me out that would be great. thanks!

should my left and right output be connected through my stock amp, or is that going somewhere else?

Probably Not! JL's website is very informative though. It will point you in the right direction.
