ok i've searched everywhere, and no one seems to have the same rattling problem that i do.

when i look in the trunk and a real "bassy" song is on, one of the whole speakers moves up and down. (it's just one of them and not the other)

when i put my hand on the bottom of the speaker to support it, it stops. it's like the metal that the speaker is attached to is not being supported. i can't figure out how to fix it, and i've tried it all.

oh yeah i've got Polk Audio speakers, they where in there when i bought the car so i dont know much about the setup.

Sounds like you have a screw loose. I've had a few rattle loose on me before.

You'll need to take the rear seat out to get the rear deck panel off. once you have it off, you can tighten the screws with a short stubby screwdriver (It's impossible to fit a full sized screw driver in there).

The DIY section has a how-to remove the rear seats. You basically pull up on the bottom seat pan and it pops free, then remove 2 bolts and lift the back seatpan out. Then there are a couple of pins and clips holding the rear deck panels are in place. It might take you an hour to do, but it's not difficult. Take your time and don't break and plastic tabs.

After a certain point It's just not worth tracking them all down.

 

thanks for the help. i'd go fix it right now, but it's kind of snowing. i'll try and get it done some time this week and tell you how it goes.

 

There are 2 metal clips that hold each of the rear deck panels down as well. Don't lose them or you'll have a new rattle. Check the DIY section first to make sure you know what you're doing and report back to us with your success!

screw the snow.. i just took apart my intake manifold in the snow.. i dont have a garage or even a driveway!

 

we've got a garage, but it's got two restored 1950 studebakers in it, and my drivway is gravel.

i'd go outside and bear the cold, but i kind of just dont feel like it today. and if im gonna have my knees in gravel for a few hours, i wouldn't mind if it was above freezing. lol

 

Yeah... I've just sort of accepted it. Normally I can just turn the stereo up, but then on some songs, the rattle from the bose center speaker becomes too loud...

 

well i guess im lucky then because this is the only rattle that i have, its just extremely loud...
