Rant...This should get some of you going!

I am going nutty reading these posts lately, but I can't stop. I don't know why!!

WTF? Why the increase in the whining lately? Everybody is acting like they didn't know the audio/video downfalls of our cars before they bought their 8. If they didn't, tought titty. Should have done some research.

One person wants the steering wheel controls, one person doesn't. One person wants the displays, one person doesn't. One person wants single din, one person wants double. Jesus Christ. There are very few elite cars that have every option available to them. Do you think it is different for higher end cars? It isn't.

Our members & vendors have come up with some great products for the 8. Most of which, I would bet, that this forum played a big role in their concept & development. The majority of us support these individuals and vendors so constructive criticism is probably welcomed. The negativity goes nowhere.

With any product, R&D takes time & money. If you are looking for quality products, , expect to wait & pay for them. If you are looking for a quick fix, the products are already available.

If you really read these threads, you have found that some incredible feats have been accomplished, anwhere from carputers to full blown custom installs. The true enthusiasts love the challenge. Take for instance MSTYLES. I know his system is not for everyone, but he must be a true enthusiast. I don't think I have read anything negative from him and I doubt he has ever given up because a $10 fix wasn't available for something he wanted to do.

If you want easy & cheap, sell your car & buy a Civic or F150. Hell, there are electronic repair shops in every city and most towns. Take your idea to them, make it happen & sell your new product to the rest of us. If this isn't for you, suck it up, be patient, be positive & contribute to the community.

Love you guys (& gals)!

Peace!!

^^^^Bravo!!!!

You must have been reading the Corksport thread.

I agree with you. Sure the car has somethings we'd like to change, but shut up already w/ the complaints.

Someone actually had the nerve to mention they could have bought a RSXS for less, and done more stuff to it for cheap.
But then blueGQ came back and told him to go to carmax and sell his car and get the RSXS.

I just appreciate the work people are putting into this car to make quality products.

But, I agree, some people need to shut up. It really bothers be when they have nothing intelligent to add to the conversation. All they want to do is bitch.

HaHa. That would be me. As I responded to bluegq I didn't say the rsx was a better car. I just used it as an example. I love my car. You have to admit it is a bitch to change out some things in our cars.

If you think about it, it is a little silly anyway. This forum should be about helping each other. As well as vent our frustrations (Whining) from time to time. In the grand scheme of things there are more important things going on in this f'd up world than arguing with each other about steering wheel controls and double din head units. On a personal note, I just had knee surgery, which is why I’m on this forum more than ever. The only thing I care about is walking again. And since this damned percocet is not doing a freaking thing for my pain, I'm going to bitch from time to time

Just cuz people are raising their frustrations doesn't mean they're whining. Sure, we know what's involved when we buy the car (well, some of us do), but that doesn't mean we have to like it. Only morons will sit there and take the crap that's given to them in life with a smile. It's not whining, it's raising awareness for an immediate need so the aftermarket will crank out solutions. We're doing our part.

Also, although some enthusiasts put in the time to crank out full blown custom systems, those of us waiting for aftermarket support aren't any less of an enthusiast. Many of us are working three jobs, studying for medical school, paying off loans, raising children, divorcing abusive husbands, recovering from surgery, or focusing their creative energies on fine tuning their suspension for autocross rather than a custom ICE job. So let's support each other as fellow enthusiasts (we wouldn't be on this board if we weren't) instead of ranting with holier-than-thou criticism.

BTW, Redlined, what are you recovering from? I've blown both my ACLs... not fun.

I don't think you even read my post. You basically said the same things I did in a different way.

There is a huge difference in raising frustrations & whining. If you are one that is married, raising kids or work three jobs, etc. you will know and understand the difference. You are correct only morons will sit there and take the crap that's given to them in life w/ a smile. However, raising awareness in a negative manner usually helps nothing.

If you think I wrote this with holier-than-though-criticism, I appologize. Please feel free to read the rest of my posts where I try to go out of my way to help everyone on this forum.

I had 2 large bone chips caught in my knee. Right now the chips are at a lab so they can find out where the hell in my body they came from. It was only arthroscopic so the pain is basically gone now, hence no more whining. If you guys haven't read the cork sport thread I bought the kit along with 3 accessories.

1) TBX-X001 - needed for Bose equipped cars so the sound system still works.
2) FPC-T001 - need so the steering wheel controls work with my aftermarket head unit (Avic N2)
3) ACC-501 - CD holder cubby the uses 1 din since the Avic n2 is a 1 din

Yes. I Ordered the parts last week. I'm expecting 4-6 weeks delivery from Japan. I have a second car as my daily driver so as soon as I receive the parts I will get to work on installation. I'll post some step by step pictures When I start.

You really should have overnighted those parts from Japan. I just hope you're ready in time for Race Wars...

That would be really expensive. All together everything is going to come to like $750 as it is. The only reason I was willing to spend that is because I got an Avic N2 navigation system for cheap.

Yeah, but now you risk blowing the welds on your intake manifold.
