umm... why don't you measure it? Nice find.

NgoRX8 12-10-2006 11:44 PM

i like these, but i just thought they were overpriced. so i plan on making my own.

This looks like a $3 Home Depot project. Hose clamp, maybe some foam padding, piece of metal or wood for the extension, miscellaneous screws, black paint.

dgrx8 12-11-2006 12:49 PM

good find!

I saw these a while back, but was concerned that the detector hanging beneath the mirror would block too much vision, so I made my own mount and put the detector up and to the right of the mirror.

The 23mm fits.

The site shows 3/4" will fit....http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/350Z/Mount.htm

nice find, but kind of costly IMHO

Jedi54 01-18-2008 12:33 PM

I'm currently using it with my Escort 9500i

I also have this mount with my X50, and I love it. Jedi, I'm hoping to upgrade this spring to the 9500i!

firebirdude 01-18-2008 09:56 PM

23mm or 3/4" mount?

NgoRX8 01-18-2008 11:32 PM

3/4" mount if you have homelink.

shazbot28 01-21-2008 05:01 PM

Correction:
2005 w/ homelink requires 3/4" bracket (Jedi54 has one)
2006 w/ homelink requires 23mm bracket. (I have one)

SAFEST BET: measure your bracket.

They seem like they are made from home depot but actually are made from aluminum and anodized black. Quality is great and I like it a lot.

My Valentine1 comes in tomorrow. Bought it after getting my first ticket. These cars are so hard to drive slow. Does anyone know what size mount is needed for a '07 with just a normal mirror. If not I'll just measure it.

You'll probably want to measure it because Mazda has used both sizes in the car. Jedi has the 3/4" bracket and I needed the 23mm bracket. Better safe than sorry... I had to wait a few days for my replacement bracket and had to spend about 10 bucks for shipping it back/they charge to swap brackets.

rx8convert22 01-31-2008 09:55 PM

Will do. Thanks for the input. Just got my Valentine1 today and already spotted a cop for me. Loving it. Need the bracket though soon since the suction cups don't seem to hold the best.

Jedi - How did you run your 9500i wires?

FriscoE 02-01-2008 02:51 PM

I have it also for my 8500...it works like a charm...highly recomended over the sappy suction cup mount.

This thing is solid as a rock.

I used the DYI and vampired off the Homelink wires (I think Jedi did the same).

Can someone with this mount and homelink post up some more pictures? Maybe a couple from the driver's view?

Jedi54 02-01-2008 03:36 PM

firebird: I can do that tonight, unless you want crappy cell phone pics.
