Quick newbie xenon question...
For those of you who got factory xenon lights, do your headlights adjust themselves (tilting up and down) when you turn the ignition like the ones on BMW? My BMW and my brother's Lexus do that, but didn't notice on the 8.
Also I don't notice any aim adjustment on the 8 while I'm driving downhill, it's more noticeable on my BMW. Normal?
Thanks.

BMW Xenon
BMW uses a Bi-Xenon technology. The Xenon lamp is similar to a projector lamp. There is a shutter that blocks the light in low beam mode producing a cone of light below the mid-line and a straight line across the highway. High beams are created by lifting the shutter to give a full cone of light. Try pulling your brother's car up to a garage and see the effect. When the lights are turned on, there's a brief warmup period as well as an initial reset of the shutter.
There are also active steering headlamps that move 7%(?) left and 15%(?) right in response to the steering wheel. Hope this clears that up for you.

Oil Injection
I found mine adjust while driving, its not a quick adjustment like BMW or Porsche, but the do tilt up and down. It seems to me like the adjust every few mins or so. I was on a long road trip and I notice that as the gas went down (less weight in the rear) along with going thru snacks and stuff out of the back that this weight change (maby 150lbs from full to empty) the cars headlights would adjust, about ever 5 miles I noticed the beam would change the distance for the cut off....maby it was just in my head.

bi-xenons have nothing to do with auto-levelling headlights..and neither does active steering...bi-xenon is simply high and low beam in one unit..
the 8's auto levelling is only adjusted with weight in the back and not body movement therefore is not a true auto-levelling..
actually i find the 8's projectors to be quite inferior to even a tiburons projectors...

The 8 has leveling motors in the rear of the projectors. There is no use of weights. The drivers side front and rear suspension arms have sensors that adjust the lights. I don't know how much more you can do than that as far as self-leveling goes.
I have taken the 8's headlight apart and I can insure i'm not wrong.
