Problem with material on the front door panels?

I am having trouble with the material on the driver and passenger doors. To be more clear, it is the material used on the arm rest/door pull. The material is always sticky feeling. I use the auto wipes for leather/vinyl/palstics to clean the interior. I think it is some kind of rubber. But when I use these wipes or just a damp towel they clean up but are still sticky. If I do a dry dusting of the inside the lint from the towel sticks to these spots and looks like crap.

Are all 8's like this or am I the lucky one? I have had the car (bought new) just over a month and have never spilled anything on these areas. If any one else has this problem are there any solutions???

I haven't had the same issue. Have you tried a different interior cleaner. It could eb the one you are using is causing the issue. over time I have found interior cleaners are much more likely to have issues with varying interiors as opposed to exterior cleaners and their changes.

clean with a damp cloth (damp with warm water) then use mequirs vinyl/rubber gold class protectant...after you wipe it on let is sit for a few minutes and then lightly wipe it off

I've never had the sticky problem...might want to stick to eating cotton candy outside of the car

Don't feel left out, bheath23, I've experienced the same feeling on several occasions. For me it's usually on the inside part (pointing towards the door) of the door pull. Ick!

Also, I've noticed the same material is lining the door's armrest and usually gets whitish rubber-wear marks all over it & requires constant cleaning.

Well, at least it's better than my last Jetta, which small raindrops or even water splash used to permanently stain the door plastics.
