Just got through putting mine under the rear of the front seats as I already had some in the footwells. Had no issue what-so-ever, just the normal pain of running the wires..............because since I attached the under the seats, I had to run the wires from under the rear of the passenger seat up into the center console then across and back down the other side to the drivers side(where the 2nd set was attached), then run them over and along the side sill and up towards the fuse box.....where I have the footwells connected all on their own fuse!
Oh...and all my connections are soldered and then heat shrunk! FTW
Gr8thandling.............
Tell me what the wire colors you connected them to? Did you have these hooked up some they come on with the door courtesy lights or when you turn on at least your parking lights? When you give me that answer, I can tell you more.

Yepper......that's my guess.........but you can see that I was kinda baiting him and seeing what/how he answered. That's the path I was going down............the wrong green wire right? Probably used the lighter green right?

I had two main problems.
1. I used my own splicers without looking at them, and the holes were too large to break through the insulation, leaving me with no connection. I even had trouble with Rasp's, but they worked with the proper force.
2. Once I fixed this, I forgot to turn my headlights back on, and began troubleshooting connections again.
They all work better than expected, and I was able to make a really clean install with two in the front and two in the rear with no visible wires and a switch on one of the dummy buttons.
Excellent kit Rasp, I recommend it to anyone who wants to have interior lights.

Now I also know why you had four black wires as I see you installed some in the rears as well.
How and where exactly did you mount the rear ones?

Not making fun here, but are you color blind? Could these not even be green/black? It's beginning to sound like you still may not have the right wires from the right wiring bundle.
Again...which way did you want these to come on.....with the parking lights(turning on the headlight switch) or when you open a door?
If you are messing with the green/black, then I assume you want them on anytime you have the doors open, but want to be sure!
If this is the case, then.....
the black wires from RR boards go to dark green/black wire.
the red wires from RR boards go to the blue/red wire.

1.) Both sets of lights are on right? (Don't worry about them being dim if they are right now).
2.) Do they ever shut off? Even with the doors open they should go out after a very long time......maybe as much as 5-10 minutes.
3.) When you close the doors, the should go off very close to when your door courtesy and map lights go out. Do they?
4.) I'm not sure about the key thing and if they should flash with the key fob. I don't think that's right which leads me to believe you have the wrong wire. Let me go try that. For the sake of argument, what year is your car?

Do the lights in the doors shut off after a little bit when you close the doors?
I assume that they do. I'm still thinking, as this is kind of a strange one because those footwell LED's are supposed to be on the same circuit as the door lights given how you are installing them.
Okay, I asked about the year just in case the color coding was different, but mine's an 05 as well.

I have the front two mounted as instructed by Rasp, and after much deliberation about where to put the rears so they wouldnt be kicked and I would not need loose wire to allow the seats to move, I ended up putting them under the carpet where the vents are below the driver and passenger seat.
As you can see, the wires go back under the carpet. I did this by lifting up the plastic bar above the RX8 faceplates and jamming a coat hanger down the hump in the picture called wire (you can orient yourself off of the seat handle in the top left for tilting the passenger seatback up and down.)
It was pretty easy, I got them both on the first try and ran them all the way up to the driver footwell.
I think I could get a little bit of a better position, or angle maybe to make the rear lights shine a little more, but I think they look pretty good how they are.

I'd say make sure your circuit and lights work with a battery of some sort and then if they do, check your splices to make sure they are cutting the insulation and not just smashing it.
