Power Needed

What I want is JL's CVS210RG-W6v2 which is 2 10" W6's and then I would get the amp to power it all. But what I was wondering was, would I have to get a bigger alternator and or battery.

it would be 800 watts continuous, so it would put out a fair amount of power. What else would I need

-CVS210RG-W6v2
- JL 1000/1 amp
- capacitor
-amp wiring
- and probably dyno matt the trunk

Another possibility that I have though about would be to just get one 10 or 12" W7... how would the 1 10" or 1 12" W7 compare to 2 10" W6's

Any help would be great
Thanks
-Derek :D

well, to begin with, the subs do not put out power, they consume it. the amp you are considering, the jl 1000/1, is excellent choice to power this setup.

hooking up that particular amp, you will want to run 0 guage wire from the battery, for both power and ground. (and yes this is possible, forbidden, on this forum as well, has done it).
ectrical system in the car, it would probably be strongly recommended to upgrade to a higher output alternator. the stock one is capable of putting out 100 amps of current. that amp, if it were 100 % effiicient, would draw 72 amps of current at full output. that would only leave 28 amps of current to run all the rest of the electrical stuff in the car. not enough. and thats if the amp is 100 % effiicient. lets assume that the amp is 70%, that means that the amp has the capability of drawing over 100 amps.

next, have you measured this box, its sizing might not fit in the trunk very easily.

lastly, if you are going to purchase the jl equipment, please consider having it installed by an authorized dealer, as jl has recently changed their warranty policy, with only a 90 warranty for any over the counter sales.
