Hi everyone last week I was planing to change my factory RX8 setereo and upgrade it. I freind of mine tolde me he could get me a power acustik head unit: PTID-4006T. I never heard of this brand before??? Any one knows it or owns a power acustik, please leave you coments and reviews.

And more importantly, I assume you know what it takes to swap the headunit in the RX8? Figured I'd better ask due to your low post count here on RX8C

 

MMM well I just began thinking of taking the entire factory stereo and replace it with upgrades...I know it is quite expensive ahahahaa...but worth I think, got any opinions or advices......Also dou you know any aftermarket rx-8 dash kit, beside crocksprt's expensive kit.

Metra's should be released very shortly. My guess is that it will be around the $200 mark.

As for what you should buy, it depends on just how much you're looking to spend for everything, how much bump you're looking for, and what you're planning on replacing the factory headunit with. (Obviously a NAV unit would eat into that budget quite a bit)

 

Well i pretend to eliminate all the nav option because in my country this is not an aviable option for cars, so the plan I have is to change the Head unit and after a cpule of months to change the facroey screen for a monitor like a kenwood or something, again looking for something not over expensive, but quality 100%

 

i had a power acoustik amp b4 - a 1440 - had it hooked up to a kicketr L7 - it was great - and cheap - but i dont know bout the head unit - i think i would stick to pioneer - i always had pioneer - i like'm -

 

Do not waste the time to put a power acoustik headunit in your Rx8.... and this comes from an authorized power acoustik vendor.......Now their amps on the other hand are awesome for the price (until they blow up shortly after)

 

i hope my amp blew up - some one stole it amonth after i bought it - lol
