Dude that looks dope.....and the touchpad to control. I'd do it that way but looks expensive. I'm trying to get my carputer installed over the holiday...I might just crazy glue the lcd to the gooseneck and then crazy glue the gooseneck behind the hole somewhere.

devoid: how much was the custom face redo? I'm almost at the point where I'm willing to break down and pay someone to custom do one for me.. I can't believe a year later NO ONE has a solution for this yet.

Honestly don't have a price break down...just an estimated total for the entire vehicle. If you are truly interested, I will ask the guys how much they would think it would cost. Don't forget though, it involves not just the radio face, but moving the temperature controls down in place of the ashtray!

Yeah I know, but considering the only off the shelf solution is $500USD from Japan.. it makes going really custom look like the only solution that I can stomach :/

The dealer told me it was for an extra 12V socket, like the one in the center console.

If you instead used a 7" touchscreen connected to a carputer, would you still need to relocate the climate controls? I would think there was still enough space right under the monitor for the controls.

It's a spot for an airbag disabled warning light except you don't have the option to disable the airbag so it is plugged.

In UK cars the light is in this position (except the dash is a mirror image of the US models, due to RHS drive). Aussie cars don't have this option and have this hole plugged as well (on the LHS as we're RHS drive also).

why not just cut into the dash a hole the size of the lilliput facing down somewhere around where the stock navi is (its just hollow under there), fab up a little tray to fill the hole, take the piece of dash you cut out and glue it on the back of the lilliput, then put a simple hinge on the screen and your tray so you can raise it up to view and then lay it down when not in use and have it look somewhat concealed?

Devoid,

Is that YOUR car? Hawt Dang!

i'm interested in finding out the cost of doing something like that (although i'd be completely satisfied w/ HALF of those mods)

You gonna debut that at the Rotary Revolution? .. i'd love to see it in person.
