Polk MM10 fitment

Hey guys I won't have access to my Rex for a little while and was thinking about getting a subwoofer. I looked around and I love the Polk products so I was wondering if you guys know if this will fit?

From the AutoCAD drawing that someone did it looks to me like it should, but I'm not sure. It looks like if I don't have a spare tire it should slide right back and maybe hang over the hole a little.

I think it is too tall. Almost 14" high. I don't think it will fit.

I dissagree... I think it will fit. It will, however, probably hang over the dip in the trunk a little bit.. The autocad drawing you have seen were probably mine. here is the box that I had in my car untill i burned my 12 up..

as you can see the front of it is 15 inches high (and still has a little bit of room) and it's not in that pic but it goes back 7 inches before the drop for the support beam thing.. and it's 18 inches wide... this box DOES overhang about an inch into the dip.. and it's hard to tell exactly how that polk box will fit but I know it will fit. the question is whether or not it hangs over.. and the real question is how the HELL do you plan to anchor it?

lol, well I can figure out the anchoring later. Right now I have an Infinity Basslink just sitting in the hole - held in place with a perfect sized piece of styrofoam packing that was inside the basslink box.

Perhaps I can strap it to the sides or something.

I think that depending on what the box is made of, maybe you could put a 1/2 peice of wood under the whole thing. Then get some L brackets and screw it into the wood and the side of the box... but thats going to depend on how well it fits...

Damien -- maybe you should also look on the review page and scroll all the way to the bottom... I'll save you some time --

Polk Response:
We are sorry that you had a problem. Your speaker did not fail because of excessive power but because of a manufacturing error.
Polk Audio's first concern is the long-term satisfaction of our customers. For that reason we have decided to temporarily halt shipments of the new Polk/MOMO subwoofers - both the enclosed models (MM10 & MM12) and component models (MM104 & MM124). An unacceptably high number of units experienced a failure of the glue bond that secures the spider to the voice coil former. All Polk/MOMO subwoofers in the hands of retailers are being returned to Polk Audio.

We were caught unaware by the problem as prototype units fully met all torture tests and the production units passed the industry-standard EIA-426b power handling tests. We understand the reasons for the failure and have devised a test that will prevent future manufacturing defects from getting out into the hands of customers. We have absolute confidence that future production units will meet or exceed all performance specifications and be able to play very loud with full Polk Audio sound quality.

At this time our best estimate is that we will have perfect in-spec units back into dealer warehouses in September. If you have a new model Polk/MOMO subwoofer and it is working, you should keep using it. The odds are that the woofer will continue to work fine. If you want to replace it with a new unit in September or if you have a unit that is not working correctly, contact your Polk retailer or Polk customer service at 800-377-7655 or email polkcs@polkaudio.com).

This notice applies ONLY to the new model MM10, MM12, MM104 and MM124 products. Older Polk/MOMO models MM100 and MM120 are not effected.
