Pioneer AVIC D3 Question

Hi guys,

Just had a question about the avic D3:

If i'm driving around in my car, and listening to my ipod, what options are there for whats displayed on the D3's screen?

Can I have a NAVI map open showing my current location etc?

Thanks

I don't have mine installed just yet, so I can't answer your question. But, either way someone who has one should be able to answer this.. I'm curious myself, even though I don't listen to ipod's.

yes you can have the navi map up and play music and when she come on to tell you to turn left in 500ft it dims the music and then she stops and it come back to normal volume.

I have the Z2 - and on mine i turned the voice off (because it's annoying as hell) and even when i am on the Audio screen the next turn screen will come up automatically when I need to make my turn.. It's pretty convenient

The best part is when the movie blanks out to show you the upcoming turn. Not that I would suggest you do the bypass or anything

I guess i'm stuck going with the corksport kit to get this thing installed correct?

Is there anything I lose going with that kit? Like the temperature display etc?

only thing you'll lose is the clock, but the avic shows the time for you.

amb temp and fan indicators will still work

laythor: Thanks alot, was worried that I'd lose the ambient temperature features. Nice to know that those will still be there!

auzoom: Looks very promising.

So what you guys are saying is that if I get something like the AVIC D3, even the steering wheel controls will be preserved?

Thanks!

Very easy to install and program. A majority of the wires, you don't even use.
