Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth Install

Today I installed the Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth car kit. It is the "black edition" which just means that the display unit is all black and it has the latest firmware. I purchased the kit on ebay for $140 shipped. I also purchased the ISO adapter which allows you to hook up the car kit without splicing into any factory wiring. This is the cheapest place I could find the adapter.

I don't see any reason why anyone with a little patience couldn't do the install for this unit with the ISO adapter. There are DIY's on the board on how to take out the factory head unit. Once you get that out, it's pretty much plug and play. You plug the harness going into the radio into the adapter, and plug the adapter into the radio. All the parrot wires have plugs that fit into the adapter as well, so nothing gets cut and you can remove it just as easily.

I had read that another member put the display unit in the ash tray but I didn't think it fit comfortably so I mounted it on the windshield over my rearview mirror. The microphone is mounted underneath the steering column to the left of the radio.

I've only used it for one phone call so far, but it muted the radio as expected, the sound quality was very good and clear, and the person on the other end said that I sounded clear as well. So far so good.

Thanx P, Got exactly the same parrot, and have been pondering (exc. the pun) how to fit.
Not looking forward to stripping the dash though...

That's awesome. The bluetooth is definitely on my list for mods. Thanks for the link for the cheap harness. I've seen them go for over $100 at other places. Was it very hard to run the wire up to where the rear view mirror was?

Running the wire was fairly easy. I ran it behind the glove box, tucked it under the piece leading to the headliner, and then tucked it under the headliner where it meets the windshield. Nothing had to be removed besides the radio and the glovebox.

Pondera, I forgot to ask you if you have the Bose system. I have read you need to get the more expensive $150 harness because it has a box that controls the sound level.

I think the cheaper $30 harness works only for people with the base stereo system.

I have the base stereo. I did a quick search and saw that the adapter for the Bose stereo wasn't on that site, and the site that did have it listed it at $150. I didn't even pay that much for the kit itself.

It's quite a hard pill to swallow when the harness costs as much as the kit.

Dang Bose system. Spending another $150 is the only think keeping me from getting this kit right now.
