OEM trip computer?

I saw this on another forum and was wondering if anyone knows if its built into our radios (since Mazda is big on their modular radio/ventilation unit)? Doesn't work on my 04 from what i can tell -shrug-

Mazda top-of-the-line sports car has a top-of-the-line MPG. You wanna scare the driver?

2005 sport not working.

I think Mazda was too ashamed to let their customers see the freakishly low mpg status on the rx8's!
