oem ipod

I have an 04 rx8 and am getting mixed signals on this. I have been told the ipod hook up from the factory will work on my 04 seince i have the bose system. Anyone know if it will work or not, One dealer told me one thing and another dealer told me another. Go figure..... Also any using the oem one and what do you think of it

A lot of dealer people are idiots.
The Mazda OEM IPOD hook-up works with the Bose head unit.
Do a search on IPOD OEM. My write up is in the Canada forum.

I think you need to 9.55 firmware for it to work. Here's from the audiolink thread how to check:

" NOTE: The factory headunit's firmware revision must be 9.55 or greater. The unit will not work on earlier firmware revisions or with 9.81 or 10.01. To find out which revision your Mazda RX-8 has, make sure the radio (FM) is turned on, then press and hold "TEXT." Then, also press and hold "1" at the same time for a few more seconds. The LCD should then report your firmware version."

Thank you . I am learning that these so called parts specialist are about as ignorant as they come. But uon further research it will work thanks for all the help

Just get the Dice module... it will work without a hiccup.

I was reading a previous post and saw that you cant skip songs you have to use like play list's. Is that true. if so is there any way around it?
