Hey guys,

It’s been a while since I posted anything. I thought I was going to have to sell the 8, but I was able to get it fixed...Anyway, the car was sitting for a few months and I just got it back from the dealer, but the radio doesn’t work. The tech tried to say it was like that, but for me it wasn't - maybe it wasn’t working for him as he was working on it...

All the fuses are good (I pulled every one of them)...I can’t figure out what’s wrong.

Reading around, people suggested that the radio faceplate wasn’t seated correctly to the radio; I've checked that and still no luck. Others say there is some sort of security code, but the dealer says there isn’t any code for the 8.

I'm not sure what to do now. Any, suggestions?

just to recap, the climate control is working, the nav hood is working, just the radio isn’t working - the head unit and the display under the nav hood are dead and the buttons and such don’t illuminate when the lights are on - neither on ACC or when the Engine is running.

Can someone help me diagnose this?

Does music come out of the speakers? Or is the whole radio dead?
If music/ no lights, probably a connection behind the radio to the HU. If not, then you could just have a dead radio?

 

no music, but if i remember correctly the last mode i had the radio in was AUX...I dont know if that matters

so there is no music lights or reaction from the radio, but other things have power.
