So i head to work the other morning cold as all hell and no heat? played with the controls and finnaly got heat. pull the radio and all and checked the connections as directed from another post and no improvment. Girlfriend went for a ride with me the other day and fooled with it some and finnaly got heat but only while she held the temp dial push in fairly hard. so Long story short not i have heat but only on the hottest setting. So i know the radio and hvac controls are intergrated but is that temp dial alone able to be replaced or do i have to replace the whole head unit? Maybe use contact cleaner? i'm open to any options. i'm still gonna have to pull the dash apart anyways just do to the fact that the display functions but no longer has a back light working. dealer says $207 for part plus swap. i love my RX8 but just fine tuning the little things

Hey i had the exact same problem as you Mystykalbaby. the heat would only stay hot if i turn it all the way to hot and pushed down fairly hard. I took it to the dealer 3 times and finally last time they replaced the climate control and that did the trick.
