New Speakers in base stereo installed

I spent this weekend upgrading the factory base speakers. This should have been the very first thing I did. It made such a huge difference I'm so suprised. I replaced the fronts with Infinity Kappas 682.7CF (2way 6x8) and the rears with Infinity Kappas 69.3.7I (3way 6x9). Its a pretty worthwhile upgrade and it doesn't really take that long to install (2 hours for the fronts, 3 hours for the rear ... i took my time). I soldered all the connections and set it up in such a way that I can toss in the old factory speakers if I ever sell the car.

I have the Basslink sitting in my office that I'll probably put in a week from now.

hmm.. im obviously new to this .. but looks like the 693.7i are 2-ohm .. i thought 4ohm was the norm for the base radio .. how does that work exactly?

I'm about to head down the same path as you. I've selected the Infinity Kappas 680.7cs for the fronts instead with the 693.7i for the rears. I'm very interested in how the BassLink matches up.

I'm undecided between the BassLink or a sub/amp setup. I don't need to be heard thumping down the street but the stock non-Bose setup is definetly lacking.

the kapps do sound good.
i have installed some Morels 3 way ,a 9 inch ,a 5 inch and tweeter, in the front best sounding speaker i have heard.

Now Diamond Audio are the best for the money.

I have the full Infiniti setup (6x8 F, 6x9 R, Basslink), it sounds pretty sweet. The basslink gives you deeper bass and complements the system well.

I am considering adding Infiniti tweeters up front on the sailpods. Does anyone know how I should hook these up? Should I wire them to the factory tweeter wiring or the cross over on the 6x8's?

Thanks in advance.

Are the 6x8s not coaxials? If yes, then you don't have a crossover.
You can hook the tweeters up to the factory wiring - it has an in-line capacitor to cut the bass and midrange if I remember correctly.

The Infiniti 6x8's are coaxials, but they do have a crossover. I am trying to figure out how the tweeters are connected to the head unit. Do they share the same signal wires as the front speakers or do they have seperate ones?

I wonder if connecting the tweeters to the coaxial crossover, in parallel with the tweeters on the coaxial speaker will screw things up.

I have a amp powering the 4 speakers, so I am trying to figure out what is the best way to power the extra set of tweeters, or if I can just use factory power.

Thanks in advance.
