New radio install problems

Just picked up a metro kit for my rx8 followed with a axxess steering wheel control unit/double din pioneer app radio. Everything went flawlessly except for the humming. I'm getting tremendous gain from the factory Bose amp. On 10 vol, it's like 20. So when you turn the radio on 1, you get a noticeable sssssssss sound followed by the radio sounds. Is there a way of turning the factory amp down? Or what might be the problem. The connections are all soldered and insulated so feed back from the cables are out of the question. I also tried turning the radio gain down on the radio settings and it didn't help.

I have an 05 rx8 with Bose.

Thanks for everyone's help! This is my first time posting

So are you using the pre-outs of the pioneer into the bose amps? Or are you using the standard speaker outputs? ( I know it's a dumb question, but it's an easy mistake.. and the standard output would be WAAYYY to powerful for the amp and would cause your problem)

I know there are a lot of issues about bose amps with non bose products.. I'm not exactly sure what you should do to fix it. I'm sure there are some betters users like Firebirdude that can help get them to play nicely together.

What I would tell you to do is to get an aftermarket amp, and aftermarket speakers and replace all the bose crap.. but I know that can get pretty expensive (in time and money). If you can do it, then you should.. if not, it's something to think about doing later

haha thanks wikked.

Sounds like he's using the high level outs for sure.

You need something like this

Then connect them to the low level (RCA) output on your headunit. That should take care of any hissing too.

The only problem is my head unit only has one preout for either sub or full range speakers. I have 2 10" subs that are going through a amp using the pre out. The way it's coming from the bose amp is just a bunch of wires that ties into the after market head unit.

Sucks.

Well, you could trying use the RCA's pictured above on your full range RCA output. Then use a line output converter on the rear speakers to give you RCAs for your sub amp.

Or just buy a decent headunit. lol

There's four speakers. That RCA cable will only do 2 and the online converters I've seen is only ment for a left and righ. (2 speakers). Also there's this annoying beep each time I change the volume or anything from the steering wheel or head unit. I have the pioneer app radio and the metra kit. I can't find how to turn the blody thing off!

Could this be the answer?
