Thx all. Gloss Black for sure. There really is no such thing as Piano Black paint. It's more so the process in which the plastic is coated. In my case a lot of fine sanding, painting, and clear coating, then ultra fine wet sanding again, buffing, etc.

However I can make an ashtray pod to fit almost anything. Within the space itself that is. It's a lot of custom work when dealing with different devices to fit. You have one in mind?
Sorry, it's just one piece with bondo back fill. Besides, it's form fitting to the Dell Axim.

Yes, I've done a lot of fine molding to get the shape just right. There's much to do to make it fit perfectly and look like an OEM piece. It's now ready for paint. Of course freezing temps don't help much in my progress or I'd have it completed by now.
Good idea, Josh. Was thinking of putting my GPS there too, but had not thought about a complete mold for it. I just didn't want to do the stupid suction cup thing so people will know I have a portable GPS even when its not up, and try to break in and find it. Also just thought about finding one of those holders that clips on to the AC vents.
Flush mounted iPhone docking station that recharges and connects mp3s to the older radios and transmits voice calls over the cars speakers and has a screen magnifier or better yet holographic projection capability. OK, that'd be good.
altspace ne suggestions as for figergallsing in some subs? i wanna move mine out of the back seat and im big on doin as muh work as possible on my car, hence the reason for not taking it to a stereo shop. another question, i don't know about ur car but mine heats drinks in the cup holder and the ahstray is quite warm too.

i had two 12" Kenwoods i puchased for a CRX i used to have. i got tired of them just sitting in the closet so i decided to put them in my RX-8. when i realized i wouldn't be able to fit them in my trunk i sold one and put the other in a box behind my seat. i was thinking about fiberglassing a couple Kicker L7's between the two back seats where that trunk access is. i don't know how to fiberglass but i want to learn. any advice would help.

i found www.caraudiofiberglass.com very helpful... its $35 for his videos but he has a lot of links to other helpful websites too.
back to that website i found... i took the time to go through it. there is a forum on there full of people that do fiberglass work. he also goes thru how he got into doing fiberglass if you are interested in doing it for a living.
