It looks like he cut and glassed the stock dash piece, so I dunno how selling would work out. Also, rotarygod has pointed out that in this case you will have two different materials mated together with two different heat absorbtion and expansion properties. In places with extreme weather like Texas and Florida, there is decent chance that the dash will crack over time.

That being said it's not a bad idea at all and it looks like it's progressing well. No security concerns with the screen always showing? I suppose if you glassed it in where the stock HU is, it really is no different...

You can't post them directly to the forum?

ummm

make it out of carbon fiber (or cover it in a thin layer) if you are into that sort of thing or even make it piano black...that would be sick

could probably pull it off with a nice black laqcuer

Dr. Rx... How bout something postive to say in the forum... You always have to offer some negativity in your posts...

Actually I agree with doc...nice concept, but texture and tone make it look out of place. Better than I could have managed though.

Sorry, I gotta agree with doc. This is way sick but if brutalbad can smooth out the finish a bit it'll really look stock. Keep posting your progress, dude!

i am finishing it up in black Test fitting and shaping now (no need to make it perfect now just to shave and sand anyways) im hoping to match it as close to the deck unit as possible i actually used rubberized undercoating (sands nicely) to fill up the imperfections and be flexible enough for when it gets hot or cold in the winter
going to smooth everything out just updating the post with some in car shots no neg's just yet guys when its final and you got negs then ill be more than happy to take it

hey, I think it looks very nice. I do have one suggestion, if you can't get a black that matches the factory black, then you could paint it the silver like some of the interior accents, but then again that might look too weird. Also, if you have a random orbital sander it is a million times easier and faster to get the sanding done. I bought mine from home depot for like $150 and it works wonders. Can't wait to see it done.

i also agree with the doc. A polished glossy finish would look great. Especially if he adds a silver bezel piece outline to it. It would totally match the stock unit under it. I give it an A for effort, a D for execution, and a C+ for total. Good job!

g-ddamn people he isn't even finished with it yet...he is being nice and giving us updates

maybe you can refrain from the harsh criticisms till you see the final product...besides most of you who are complaining couldn't put something like this together if your life depended on it
