Ok, here , goes , i have recently bought a new titanium 2005 rx 8 , i have around 1000, dollers to put into it but im not sure what i want , i was thinking about red neon beacause my dash bored lights up red , and ideas and what i shold invest in first, PLEASE HELP , and i can probalby get around 500 more if i need it

Hmmm,

I would buy the AV Electronics S-Video Switcher from Matt at Mazdaparts.com first for around $500. That would put video sources on your nav from multiple inputs, like DVD, X-Box, Cameras, etc. Then I would get the PIE connector to input sound into your HU from an iPod or similar and the DVD and X-Box. Then maybe a carputer or Mini Mac.

This is all of course if you have the OEM Nav Unit. Do you?

 

Go get an amp & subwoofer.You get great sound & attention when you turn it up.

 

What type of neons were you looking in to? Interior or exterior?
If I were you I would do some of this...
- Get some interior bulbs (bright led's for the interior -- bulb codes can be found, just search)
- Clear Corners + Stealth Bulbs
- MP3 Adapter (If you have an one -- I use Neo Car Adapter for my iPod)
- Do the $10 billet grill D.I.Y. (See DIY Forum for details)

With all of that, you'd still have a good $500+ left...

 

tints, clear corners, 3rd brake light, painted calipers, racing beats suspension package (sway bars and springs), and the revi intake. that should put you at about 1100? i think the first 4 are the most bang for your buck mods that will improve appearence.

Sweet, I pretty much did the same thing except I started with 1-12inch & a 1000watt amp & ended up with 2-12inch subs.A sound system is a must have for a lot of good reasons.

I just installed a Varad lighting kit on the RX8 that we have in our bay. While it may be the suspension lighting system, we used it to light up the door speakers with and dude, it is one way cool lighting setup.

the first thing i did to my 8 is put a JBL gti series 10 subwoofer and a 1200 watt amp. it sounds really good. i want to put another 10 and replace the factory speakers also. but it really depends on what you want to do to it. don't do what everyone else says do what makes you happy.

 

He's one of those guys that bought an 8 to try to distract people from his small wee wee :-)

 

look, I got a six channel amp and a dual voice coil sub, the amp has two sub channels and each wired to each voice coils as the sub channels are mono. hence no feedback or noise issues, I used all infinity with a perfect 10 sub, which is nice, and they sound great, yes there are clowns that will blow big money on other speakers that sound like crap, for a grand, I have an 11 speaker system and it sounds good, i threw the stock speakers in the trash......they were cheap junk. oh yeah I also got a lightning audio 1 farad digital cap with the amp and I used 4 gauge power and ground in case I dump the 6 channel infinity and get two separate amps later on........ and I junked the mazda battery and put in a big dog yellow top optima battery, and I installed the racing beat protection screen for the ac condensor. next thing I want to do is the racing beat exhaust and suspension and intake,

Hey purple, that is exactly the setup I was planning getting (I think) but with a 12" dvq sub. Here is what I was planning on getting:
Infinity Reference 6810ca - Components for doors
Infinity Perfect 12dvq for bass - Trunk
Infinity Reference 9613i - Rear deck
Kicker KX700.5 Amp - Trunk

Is that similar to what you have?
