My 04 just arrived here in Italy. My NAV does not function because of location. I knew that would be the case before I shipped it. Question is, can I disable the screen from opening/closing every time I turn the key? I have a European aftermarket GPS that I would like to put on top of the closed factory NAV, but need to prevent it from opening. Any suggestions??

 

Close it before you shut the car off, works for mine........now I just need to find out how to get past the warning screen that asks you to hit enter.

 

Get a video switcher so you can use the stock screen to show navi. Or you could change the screen to a touch screen and the possibilities are endless. Personally, i like the way the stock screen hides away in the dash so i would want to keep this feature.
