Nice & Clean. Hope it hits good. Takes up a lot of space for a single 10".

Well, I have a single 10w6v2 setup using the same amp. I used 4080's box and it takes up a lot less space.
I still need to run the RBC and cover the amp, but i'll get there.
Of course the 10w7 doesn't fit in 4080's box though so if you're dead set on that sub, you'll be stuck.

Glad to hear that the JL 6 series fits in the 4080 box. That is next on my list.....as soon as I talk my wife into letting me spend $600 on speaker boxes. I guess I will be temporarily putting my Punch 10s for now. How does it sound. How do you think it will sound w/ 2? Peace!!

2 of these 10's would be way too much bass for me.
The single 10 sounds great. I'm actually underdriving the sub a little bit because if you follow the adjustment technique for the amp from JL, it's ungodly loud. This way I have it so i can turn it up with the RBC1 if I want to and it sounds good with everything.

I wanted clear tight bass and that's what I got. It can be loud enough to really blow your head off if you want it to.

Is it hard to wire the amp cables to the headunit?

I think I may just end up paying someone to install the amp and do the wiring...hah.

4080 makes them for his boxes. They cost just a little bit more (so little that it was totally worth it).

I let someone install the amp and sub too. The reason I did was becasue I didn't really feel like blowing up a $500 amp. Anyway, you don't wire to the head unit :b You wire the power cables to the battery, ground to the closest ground, the remote turn on to a 12v source, the sub out to the sub and the signal in is coming off of the rear deck speakers, into a line converter to RCA.

I could've done all of that myself, but I just didn't want to risk it. Plus, they took out a whole buncha stuff that I didn't know was there so I would've ended up redoing it anyway. If you've never done one before, pay someone to do it and watch.

That is why it sounds so good. If it was installed by a JL Dealer, you know it was hooked up & level matched properly. Level matching can make or break a system. Ever heard someone's $3000 system thas sounded like azz? That is probably the biggest reason. Peace!!

I can 100% tell you that the JL dealer who installed this system had no f'ing clue how to level match this hardware. It was so ungodly loud/distorted/clipped/out of phase when they sent me off that I actually had to turn the stereo completely off until I got home. I won't name any names on stores (Car Toys) but they don't have a clue.
I'm sorry to say, but you're just wrong.

I level matched it myself, following JL's directions in their manual and when I found that those settings were too loud, I dropped the sensitivity just a little bit to bring the volume to a place where it was acceptable and I could use the RBC-1 to boost the bass when I needed to.

It's really not that hard to setup and install an amp if you just take your time and follow the directions.

Damn, I hate when I'm wrong!! That suprises me, usually JL is pretty strict w/ their dealers. They don't want their name on a system that hasn't been tuned properly. You are right, level matching is not hard, however, not many consumers even know about it. Glad that you knew & things turned out great. I can't wait to start trading all the RF stuff from my old car for JL. Peace!!

LOL. Trust me, I let JL know. Their stuff is far too expensive to install wrong.

Well, out of phase was really how it sounded. What it really was doing was clipping like made since the sensitivity was set so god damned high. Everything was so ungodly distorted it sounded like ****.

Cool. Not a lot of people putting them under the seats any more. That used to be the only place they went back in the day. Saves trunk space & is usually a lot cooler.

Pic of my setup, 2 x 10W7's and a DLS A6 (does 1300 watts RMS) Needless to say its very loud, but its tight and sounds great, Im usiging a MB Quart Raa 4200 for my highs amp and DLS Iridium 8.3's for my component set.
