Red face My new mods

Hi all,

This is my first thread, so bear with me if I didn't do it right....
What do you think about my newest mods? I installed the auxmod basic, with the ipod 5g video (30 gig). Then I bought the airclick remote for the ipod, disassembled it, and blended it into the console. What do you think? The other pic is the engine cover with winning blue paint to dress it up a bit. I know Im a dork, but I love doing these little things, they give me so much more enjoyment every time I see them...

Since you asked!!! I love the ipod buttons in the console, but having the big azz audiocontrol sticker next door takes away from it. (Ditch the sticker!!)

Very nice work though.

What is the rest of your system?

res of the system

Yeah, I see your point about the lc6 sticker. It does blend in better when you are sitting in the car, but good point. My system so far is as follows:

- Audio control lc6 installed in trunk with bass controller on console

- Auxmod basic for ipod (is the advanced ever going to come out?)

- Kenwood 2 channel putting 480 watts to a 12" polk/momo sub in my custom "camera" box.

- Rockford Fosgate amp putting 80x4 to my rear deck speakers (6x9 audiobahn seps) and door speaks (cerwin vega ss6.5 stealth seps)

- Both amps installed in recess of trunk with a custom plexi/carpet amp cover with blue/red led fans for cooling.

- Monster cable throughout (gold plated battery terminal/fuse, 4awg wiring to rear console, Monster Cable gold plated distribution block mounted in rear console, 4 awg wires to amps.

So far it sounds pretty good, although I want to have some boxes made (like the 4080's for the trunk so I can show off the amp rack & cover better. My only problem is the rattles at high volume levels. The worst of it seems to come from my rear view mirrors, and sometimes it drives me nuts. I don't want to drop 700 to dynamat the whole car right now. so I am dealing with it... I can upload more pics when I get home, I don't have them on my work pc.

You've been busy! Very Professional looking!
The console looks great. It looks factory except for the sticker.

How did you drill the holes so perfectly spaced and is that a headphone jack next to the dial?
Sure would like to see the underside of your console...

Thanks for the compliments, I have been busy. The remote unit was a rounded little remote about the size of our keyless entry remotes. I took the casing off, and used the top of the casing as a template to draw the five circles onto the back of the console. Then I used an xacto knife to start the holes in the dead center. After that, I just took a bit that fit in the top of the casings holes and drilled into the starter holes I already had. Then just mount the board and the rubber button sheet to the underside of the console. If you take your time to do it, it doesn't take too long.

The little dot next to the bass remote **** is an led light that goes with the level of bass on the ****. Good luck moddin'!

I used dupli color metal specks blue spray paint. It is a durable, high-temp paint, that matches our winning blue perfectly. I bought it at autozone. I finished it with a high temp rated (engine enamel) clear coat. About 4 coats of the paint followed by about 6 coats of the clear. I let it dry about 10 minutes between coats.

Good luck finding a tape that will stick to the surface though. I went through 6 types (Gorilla, duct, carpet, masking white, masking blue and packing, all of which had NO effect) before I made a cardboard template. NOTHING STICKS TO THAT SURFACE! It must be teflon coated or something to stop road grime from sticking. Good luck, let me know if you have better luck than I did.
