Do you think thats noticible weight, that would slow me down a good amount?

The problem with most MTX subwoofers (and this didn't used to be true) is their ridiculously high Qts values. Most of their current subs have QTS values that are around 0.7. Well that means you CANNOT make a box for them that has flat reponse. It is impossible since the box Q will be higher than the woofer's Qts.
Using an MTX woofer you are likely to have box with a Q of 1.0 or more (there are exact equations for all of this). That means you are going to get a lot of mid bass boom with very little bass extension. If you want to get loud, that might be good thing, but if you want to go deep - forget about it.
