Hi everyone.

Originally I wanted to mount a Screen with the after market retractable piece. Now i'm thinking that its not a good idea since I want to use the unit to keep my fiancee busy on trips. So that means she would likely be using it while I'm driving and since its visible and I'll probably get pulled over by a cop at some point.

Has anyone mounted a dvd screen in the glove box of the car? I can't think of another place that I could mount the unit. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

You mean inside the glove box, so that it would have to be open to view it? Does she have really skinny/short legs? I don't know how comfortable it would be riding with the glove box open. Also, the glove box would probably tend to bounce a bit when you hit bumps.

 

Yeah I'm thinking I didnt really think it thru enough. She is really small, 5'2" but I still think it would be a tight fit and the glove box going up and down would be awful. Argggg, I guess I'll just get a hand held one.

I have my iPod connected to the HU and I keep it in the glove box. When I'm travelling with my girlfriend she usually plays DJ the whole time and just leaves the glove box open. It doesn't seem to cut into her leg room that much and she's like 5'6". I don't think it's a bad idea. Have your girl sit in the 8 with the glove box open and see how it works.

 

Dude I don't wanna tell ya how to run your life but your girlfriend shouldn't be touching your ipod or playing DJ. There's certain things that’s MANS work, like picking up heavy box's, hooking up DVD players, cooking with fire, peeing standing up. No woman should be allowed to play DJ especially not with and ipod, it’s say's so in the Bible.

I think the screen in the glove box can be done but it would be a odd viewing anle

 

the glove box is able to be closed with the audiolink cord coming out connected to the ipod. I let my GF watch movies or episodes of family guy on it while I'm driving.

Damit! You beat me to it! But seriously... without serious work, there is no way to make a screen look good in that location. Save yourself the time and money and just buy the portable DVD player...

 

Of course I only let her DJ when there isn't room for her in the trunk.

Search for Sunvisor LCD monitors or DVD players. You can get a visor with just a monitor on it or the entire dvd player and monitor, such as the ones on this page:
