modifying stock seats?
hey anyone know of or though about this?
i have a blue 8 black leather interior.... in the future i plan to add blue and white into the seats and side pannels... and if i was having that done i was wondering is it possible to get our seats modified so we can have harnesses? for those who may think its ricey or whatever... it would actually make the car more pratical... for instance driver or passenger seat have seat belts on and someone has to get in the back... instead of having to unblucke your seat to let them in the harness would eliminate that.. or would this be a safety issue to use because of the mounting spots on the car?
thoughs?

if your not 1st your last
funny thing is there still not a real seat belt and can be handed a ticket in NJ
just get a cheap 4 way harnesse on ebay.a expensive 5 point is not needed and you would have to drill into the rear floor board
hey lil benny you never responded on my email did you get it ? where you able to mount the subs in

little BEN you are the man of the week!
great idea with the 4 point for back seat access
anyone else do this saftely? (when I was 12 I was in a car accident with an old Mazda 626, I was in the rear seat and my seatbelt tore apart and my knees went through the passenger seat)

Not sure if the seats are rigid enough to support the stress the 4 point would put on the seat back if the person were to be forced forward like in a frontal crash.
Another thing to keep in mind is the seat has an air bag that deploys on the side.
It would be really nice if they could be retro fitted though.
Much nice look than pretty much any racing seat I have seen.
Just don't know the rigidity of the seat, safety is important, not just looks.

like kel said, a harness setup requires either having a secure point on the back of the chassis floor or on the roll cage, so the harness can actually hold you in place when the worst thing happens. the seat itself will never be rigid enough for the harness setup.
