Hey guys,
I did the update a while ago but I never notice this problem.

My outside temp reading is off in hot day.
Temp never goes above 70F and it does not update.
I drove from cool SF to hot LA Seven Stock all the way and the temp never change.

Seems like the reading is done when Metra is power up only.
The reading is ok in cool temp. It does show around 40-60F correctly.


Not sure if the sensor or Metra problem.
Any thought?

 

So i just got my metra kit last week and installed it over the weekend and ive noticed that it definitely looses time about 20 minutes or more overnight so im assuming that i dont have the most up to date firmware... is there anyway to tell what firmware you have? and i think i need to sign up for this cable

 

you need the update ... i dont think the updated firmware is being shipped out yet as the dont sell that many metras for our 8s theyre still probably selling the batches with the old firmware ..

 

got the cable, will send to double down soon as I update mine.

 

so do i get signed up automaticly or do i have to pm somebody?

 

I still need the cable as well if possible... no rush, just didn't want to be forgot about!

BTW, I just spoke to Metra Tech Support, and they offered to update it for me if I'd send them the circuit board in a padded envelope. Obviously this would mean a week or so without climate or stereo, but it might make sense for some people....

JAR_AR is a retard (JK) He bought my metra kit off of me so there was no need to update the firmware on it because i already had done it.... (I did mine back in MARCH)

I dont know what he was thinking sometimes i think that guy is lost... as far as getting the cable back from him or getting him to respond... you all better PM him a lot because it took him 1 & 1/2 months to pay me for the METRA KIT..... GOOD LUCK getting the cable passed around...
