Metra Kit Help OBDII pink/blue wire

Hi guys,

I am in the process of connecting my Avic double din with the Metra kit, but I am stuck on a step. I searched but couldn't find an answer

I bought the Metra kit used so I don't have the 2 pin harness for the OBDII connector. All I have are two bare pink + pink/blue wires. I was going to tap those wires into the wires on the back of the OBDII connector, but I noticed the slots were empty!!

I attached a pic for reference

I did make sure the OBD connector was oriented the right way, the bottom is tapering to the bottom in the pic, and u can see the middle clip thing as shown in the pic.

What do I do with the Pink + Pink/blue wires (aka 2 pin connectors)??

Thanks

The metra kit does not have a OBD connector... it is two long wires (Pink and Pink/Blue) attached to a small white "molex" style connector.

You need to splice these into the wires at the OBD connector.

Your confusion over the "missing" pins in the OBD connector is with "views"

The picture from the manual is a "connector face view", and the photo of the OBD connector is a "connector wire view"... The face view is looking a the connector from the front, and the wire view is looking at the connector from the back.

The wires you are looking for are:
pin 6 = Blue/white = bottom row, third from left in your photo
pin 14 = Green/Black = top row, third from left in your photo
