Metra kit doesn't fit radio!!!

Hi,

I bought the RX8 Metra kit and it doesn't fit any 7" wide radio. What should I do?

It's a Metra 95-7510. Am i doing something wrong? Can anyone help me out with some ideas?

Thanks,
Bmcc

Wow that isn't cheap. I find it weird that my Metra kit doesn't fit a 7" wide stereo though. I thought that that was the industry standard. Do you know of anyone else having problems like this with the Metra kit>?

well i used a dremel, and of course its not perfect because i just wanted it to fit, so i did it by eye instead of taking the longer more accurate route of measuring this out.

just be sure if you trim the sides, your going to have to sand it down and then primer and then paint it again. its really quite easy.

also remember if you trim the edges be careful with the faceplate because it will loose its strength and will be flimsy if you need to pull out the whole kit again [most likely]

I have the Kenwood DNX8120, it has a 6.95 inch screen and it fits perfectly.
