I am going to buy the metra kit and I would like to also install a GPS/Music player. I have been looking on ebay and apexcone and don't really know what I should be buying to fill that hole that will be there. Any suggestions?

hmm, yeah but there is no picture showing it in the dash, I'm also basing this off of how it looks in the dash as well, the other one as lights that match the car.

 

I just installed the 505. Its almost all screen there is only a very thin row of buttons with small blue LEDs along the bottom. IMO it doesn't clash at all. I'm pretty happy with the selection.

Pioneer AVIC Z2 or Z1 if you can find one, then you can easily upgrade it to a Z3.

I am in the same boat as you and have done some research...

I am leaning towards the Pioneer because it has the HD Partition for music, and I don't have an IPod, so the slow interface is not a big deal for me.

There is also the Eclipse AVN6610 with Dual DVD, dual zone viewing. I am not sure if the Pioneer or Alpine does it. Read the User guides for each or do some more research.

EDIT: Also steering wheel controls... I heard the Alpine allows you to keep stock steering wheel controls with a module. I am going to have to make a list of things I am looking for and maybe I'll have time to post them up so we can compare?

 

yeah, my ipod was sold months ago due to me having no use for it. I just need one like the pioneer without the DVD, I have no use for playing DVDs in my car really. I was looking at one for 850 dollars which is one step down on the pioneer one.

 

You did not mention price point.
