LED light in Seat Heater switch
LED light in Seat Heater switch
Howdy,
I just got my RX-8 last week, and I noticed that one of the lights withing my passenger seat heater switch doesn't work. Does anyone know what type of LED it is, and where can I get one? Does v-leds.com sell a bulb that small?
Thanks for any replies.

I can get to the light, as it's at the bottom part of the switch once you pop the switch out from the console.
I took the bulb to Radio Shack, but they didn't have a bulb that small. The guy there said he thinks it's an 8v led bulb, since there was an '8' on the little plastic housing for the bulb, but he wasn't sure.

looks like a standard 3mm or 5mm led to me. but it could just as well be a incandescant bulb as far as anything you can determine from the pictures. not really helpful. Is also just as likely that its an uncommon one that will be very difficult to find.
You'd spend less time and probably no more money to just replace the whole switch... junkyard comes to mind

probably just a broken solder joint. Vibration & thermal cycles. Remove switch and re-solder. Otherwise just get a switch from salvage. There plenty crashed vehicles for a part like this.
i've had the same thing happen to me. i just went with the new switch route but then again, i had an extra center console piece that i bought off of ebay and it came with them.
just make sure if you buy just the switch that you specify which one (driver side or passenger side) as they have different connectors. off the top of my head, i believe that one is keyed and the other isn't. probably just to prevent them being connected to the wrong side.
