Exclamation LCD issues again DOH!

I know i'm new to mazda and the RX8 world all together as well as this forum so i took the leap and now have a rx8 gt i'm in love with but i purchased the car knowing the previous owner said that the lcd backlighting didn't work. i've searched but i havent found anyone who has posted on dash removal, specificaly towards me gaining access too the lcd display. it works as far as displaying symbols. if the sun hits it right or if i hold a flash light to it you can read it but outside of that no backlighting whatsoever. Can someone please tell me or direct me to a post that has someone who has done this kind of removal. i really dont wanna tear up the dash or intereor its clean scratch free appearance was part of the reason that i purchased the car.

Also is the display a sealed piece, maybe loose wire, or even a buld that may just need to be replaced.

Thank you all for your help in advance i'll hope to post photos soon

The LCD backlight is not a "field" serviceable item. It's just not worth the time and effort, especially for a small display.

Yes, it is hermetically sealed, so again, just not worth the effort for a relatively low cost item.
