Latest DEI Window Module News

Just wanted to pass along that as of late March, 2004, DEI has released a set of window modules and channel expanders for all of their line that now works correctly with the RX-8! No need to buy a passenger window motor for the driver's side, any longer.

Specifically, the latest window module, compatible with the Mazda 6 works great on the windows AND the sunroof! I just had my stock driver's window motor put back in and the modules upgraded and it works like a charm!

We did a hotwire test on the sunroof and all was go there, too! Too bad I ran out of money. I'll have to wait until May for the sunroof with motion trigger install (closes windows and sunroof if someone sticks their hand in your car...Bwahahahaha!).

Btw, this module is pretty universal. It is on my Compustar SS system. I can crack my windows, open, or close them. When I remote start, they automatically close, as well (air conditioning / heating concerns). Coooool.

Just wanted to pass the good news along!

P.S. Anyone want to buy a hardly used passenger window motor for $20 bucks or so?

An expansion module for an alarm system, I gather.

Huhsler, could you post complete info on this system? Where to buy, how much, what it comes with, what expansions you can buy, capabilities, etc... Thanks!

Actually, I can't. I just took my car back to get a stock alarm issue ironed out when they made the fix. I'll give them a call to see if I can get the exact info. I'll post it when I find out.

UPDATE: AUDIOVOX AU-93 1-WAY WINDOW MODULES (x2)

Boy, do I ever have egg on my face. I just found out that this is the latest Audiovox module. I could swear that the tech said it was a DEI module. This is the second time I've passed along bad info in my enthusiastic rush.

Unlike the DEI module, this is a 1-way, so you need 2 if you want up AND down (4 if you want independent window remote...why?).

My deepest apologies.

No need to apologize. I'm just glad you got the info. I work at a store that sells both DEI and Audiovox. I was wondering if DEI actually came out with a databus window module or something. So that's cool that Audiovox has something that works. I never look to them first, since DEI is so much larger a company. But that's good that they have something that works. Thanks for the info. It would have taken me a lot of research to figure it out myself.
