Keyless entry fob problem

During the last few days when I turn off my factory alarm I have to wait unil I"m right up on the car before it picks up, and the blinkers go off. I've already changed the battery and it's still doing it, anyone else having this problem and know of a way to fix it?

Have you tried your second fob? Could the new battery be bad?

the other one's doing the same thing, and I tried it, and then replaced both batteries

i've noticed that they don't have a very far range... i have to be within 100 feet from the car for it to work. My jeep would work up to a 1/4 mile no prob, but that was a after market alarm. so i dunno

I noticed the range on the 04 FOB blows...BUT in the manual it says max is under 30 feet or something? maybe worse I can't remember

The 05 FOB is WAY WAY better...over 50 ft atleast and only gets better when you extend the key it is like an antenna which is odd since the 'key' and the 'fob' of the 05 only have plastic connecting them

well unless I'm within ten feet of my car the fob doesn't work does it have to be reset to the car? I had the HU defroster buttons replaced, coudl the dealer have done something that cleared out the fobs?

SlAoTkAiN, sounds like the car needs to go to the dealer.

Try this ........ next time you're far from your car, hold the fob up next to your neck with the fob pointing towards the car and hit lock or unlock buttons........ you body acts as an antenna and you get extended fob range :D.

Mine is funny--sometimes I have to be right up on the car--other times I can unlock it from the other side of town. Not worried about it-cause I plan on getting the 05 setup.
