Kenwood iPod adapter compatibility with stock stereo?

Kenwood iPod adapter compatibility with stock stereo?
So I have a Kenwood KCA-iP500 ipod interface that I used to have in my old RX-7. I was just wondering if I could just use this to plug in the back of my stock in-dash 6 cd changer in my 8. The connector just looks like a regular cd changer plug so I was hoping I could just use it instead of payin 100+ for the mazda adapter.
