Just put two 12s in my Rx8!!

It was a bitch toget the box into the trunkand I ripped a little bit of the rubbermaterial but somehow I gotit in. Now I have no moretrunk space tho and Im not that happy. At least I have bass in my car now! I might takesome pics for you guys next week tho its nothing special. Just a box w/an amp in the back and I also have a bass control switch that I clipped in right next to the driver seat and below the stereocontrols. I like the setup alot! I dont know what todo with the tire pressure box now tho b/c I had to move it to fit the box in the trunk and right now the 600 watt amp I have is taking up the center sunken part along with the tire box. Im going to mount theamp and the box on the left&ride sides of trunk so I can still have some storage in the center part. Now people arereally starting to notice my Rx8 on the road too hahaha!!

Oh ya I wanted to say that one other problem I have w/having a systme in the Rx8 now is I cant hear the flying saucernoise anymore that I love! You guys know that high light pitchnoise the rotary engine makes all the time whenit is idle? Well Now I gotta turn my stereo off if I want to hear it! Maybe a mod will comeout to make the rotary noise extra loud.

Guys I am havinglots of problems with my two 12s! I was going to take pics last weekend but Im still not happy w/my setup. For a while Idrove the car around with the subs pointing upto the ceiling of the trunk and didnt care. Then someone pointed out to me that you can barely hear it on the outside b/c the subs arent facing back against the trunk pointing at the back of the car. They said this makes less reverb and the bass pumps too fast. Well the Rx8 has tootiny of a trunk. There was noway I could get the box to face the back of the turnk without losing the trunk space I have and I still want a little trunk space. I am thinking that Imight get rid of the two 12s and just put in one 15 or two 10s since Im having so many problems with the box. The trunk is just not bigenough for two 12s I dont thinkand I still want enough space to put in 3 bags of grocreies. I also need to set something up that will hold the box steadyfor sharp turns!

If I've got the wrong end of this, I apologise in advance...

If the fact that "you can barely hear it on the outside" is considered a bad thing, then I assume that your desire is to annoy the living **** out of people by driving about with thumping noisy crap blaring from your car.

I put the duf duf brigade right down there with the other lesser primates that wouldn't know what correct social behaviour would be if it bit them.

Mindless, selfish and stupid are words that come to mind in describing people who believe their car audio should annoy an entire residential suburb at night.

Again, if this category doesn't describe you - take this as a general comment.

Totally agree!
I used to think that was pretty cool... when I was 18. I have since realized how sad having your music audible from 2 blocks away is.

In my last car, I had a full Boston Acoustics Pro Series competition/demo system powered by Orion HCCAs (the old-school unregulated ones). With the windows up, you could barely hear it outside the car, which, well.. was part of the point.

Love the bostons - really crisp sound to them. I've got a 3 way set hanging about, along with a 10 in JL Audio dual VC ... I was thinking of attacking the RX8 with them, but I've decided to do something special with the RX8 - the plan is still evolving (it's not going to be OTT though).

Do you get consistent bass volume pass volume 19 or 20 on your stock head unit?

If yes, did you tap in before or after the Bose amp?
