Just purchased - audio problems

Hey guys, well I went to go test drive an 8 this weekend and had to buy it

It's a beautiful wonderful car.

I have a problem though. The left speaker on the driver side seems to be outputting sound at a way lower volume than the right speaker. Is this normal? I checked the balance, and when it's at 0 its very noticeable. Is this normal?

Thanks

It is very frustrating how hard they make it to replace the stock stereo.

Sit in the passenger seat and see if magically the drivers door is louder. Just something I need to know.

Depending on your sensitivity, this can be normal. The driver's side speaker is pointed at the passenger, and the passenger speaker is pointed at the driver. If you were to sit on the center console then it should sound balanced. When you're sitting in the driver's seat, the passenger side will seem slightly louder, especially if your leg is inbetween you and the driver's side speaker.

edit: forbidden beat me to it

Well, when I made that first post I had sat in both the driver and passenger seat, and it was noticeable from both. I had to turn the volume up about 4 notches to get the equivalent loudness. When I switched the balance all the way to the right speaker, and then all the way to the left speaker, it was still very noticeable. But I just went back to the car and checked it and now it sounds normal.

Maybe it was all in my imagination

Do you have the navigation system? When I picked up my car the dealer turned my navi on and then muted the navi. This lowers the volume on the drivers side everytime the navi wants to tell you something.
