Well I just got the metra kit installed on my 8 with the pioneer 920bt head unit and now I have a couple of questions

First I've heard that you can get customizable text with the metra kit on the dash but how exactly do I set that up?

Second question is that once the installation was complete the temperature was not displayed anymore. How do I get the temperature to come up again where it originally was?

 

haha hold the mode button till it displays text at the top and starts blinking , and then use the ac button and other buttons to switch the lettering im at work cant go to much into detail


and for the temperature is the same process hold the mode button till temp starts flashing and then you can let mode go and the temp will now be displayed

 

and when i say hold the mode button i mean hold it it wont take 2 seconds lol

like 10-15 seconds and once you see text let mode button go hope that helps for now man

 

my car has 3 mode buttons. I held every single one of them for at least a minute each and nothing happened.

what am I doing wrong?

 

wtf how do you have 3 mode buttons ?? i meant the big mode button for the climat control

I did that one and nothing happened...

I have one mode button on my steering wheel, another on the climate control and the other is on my pioneer nav system.

If it helps I have an 09 GT RX-8 and then pioneer 920bt just came out in the beginning of april but I'm guessing it should still work the same right?

should work the same you do have metra kit and its hooked up properly

does it say metra kit on your display right now


and the box the kit came in did it say turbo something or other on it ???

 

mine came in a bag and I am pretty sure it said turbo on it

idk looks too cheap they probably didnt get you the propper metra kit cord does it say metra kit on the text display

 

No it doesn't say that on the display

That wasn't the one I got though. The actual one i got was around $160 with the wiring harness

 

idk man and nothing at all comes up take a picture let me see what it looks like maybe i can figure it out

now im getting all upset lol
