JL Audio W7?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has put a JL Audio W7 sub in their RX-8. I'm thinking of putting a single 10in. W7 powered by a JL 500/1 amp to complement the Bose system.

If anyone knows anything I should be aware of in terms of space, enclosures, etc, please let me know! Also pictures would be awesome. Thanks a lot!

Thank you,
Duke

Two guys from this forum are going to be getting boxes built by me installed in their cars. eXcentric and MrWiggles. Wiggles likes more sound quality where eXcentric wants it to get louder so each one will be done totally different. They are both going to use JL subs but none of them are W7's. When the boxes get built and installed soon, they are each going to post pictures and how they liked them here on the forum. I can almost all but guarantee that I will not do a rectangular shaped box and that they will fit quite well. We are all meeting tomorrow to get the initial designs worked on. Luckily we all live near each other.

I have a 12W3 on a 500/1, it's way more than I need.

The 10W7 is a beast, but worth it my opinion for those who have the Watts to spare and still need a small box.

A 10W7 in a 1 cubic foot box with 500 Watts behind it will sound about as loud as 2 10W0's each with 125 Watts in there own .8 cubic foot box.

You might actually get slightly better results with 1 10w3v2 and it will be considerably cheaper.

yes the w7 series are extremely loud...one of em shuold be enough to put some loud boom in your 8..IMO go for it, good sub, good amp, just make sure you get a good box (totally sealed) and you'll be set!
