Hello Everyone,

I purchased a 2003 JDM RX8 a few weeks back, and have been slowly and gradually moulding things to my liking. One of the things that i need to work on is the JDM navigation system (which is naturally in Japanese). I need to convert this into english.

One of the prospective solutions that I had thought of was that I could download the navigation firmware from the net and flash the nav system with the english firmware. From what I have read on the forms, it seems that it is possible to update an older firmware version with a new one. Is it also possible to flash the firmware completely and upload an english one?

The second solution I thought of was that i could remove the entire navigation unit and purchase the english version from Ebay and replace it with that. Would this be a possible swap?

The third and final solution is that i could somehow incorporate a garmin (or any gps unit for that matter) in place of the lcd.

Please guide me as to which solution would be the easiest. I am most keen on the first option, since that entails the least amount of work/expenditure on my part.
