Ipod w/FM vs TPMS

Does anybody use the FM transmitter with their Ipod?

Does it cause any disturbances with any of their 8s electronics?

No that I already wrote this I know I should have did a search but oh well.

I use an iTrip FM transmitter with my third gen iPod. It works great! I usually put the iPod with the iTrip on it, in the cup holder then close the sliding door. The signal is always strong. I sometimes get some static interference when I drive near power lines, but that is temporary.

It never interferes with the 8's electronics.

One note, the iTrip seems to suck a lot of power from the iPod. I get less than 2 hours use for the combo. Get a car lighter adapter and use the socket inside the console.

I have a fairly clunky set up for my iPod right now, with a Belkin transmitter and 12V adaptor. Saw this in the apple store today, and think it might be pretty sweet:

there's a player made by samsung but branded by napster. It's got a 20 mb hdd and the fm transmitter is built-in. has anyone tried this? Seems like one less dinglebob if you get it all in one unit. Or does ipod already do that? has anyone tried the napster one? See it here.

I use the monster fm transmitter. It plugs into the lighter and powers/charges the ipod while it plays. Quality is good depending on how strong the FM frequencies are on the stations im broadcasting to.

Hmmm...I don't know why some of you are getting such good results with the iTrip...maybe your FM dial is less congested than mine or something. I get a decent amount of static that comes and goes, and a constant high-pitched tone that never goes away. Its better than not having access to songs...but just barely. I ALMOST took it back, but...well, it was only $29. I also use the Belkin power adapter to keep it charged, and that seems to work pretty well.

Got an iPod mini for my anniversary (love that woman!). Some accessories too, including the Belkin FM transmitter. I told her she might want to return that piece since I was pretty sure I'd be hard-wiring it somehow. She said no, you never know you might like it. So far it's not very good in the car. I'm in a populated area and so it's hard to find a dead spot on the dial, or more accurately, one that STAYS dead for very long when travelling about. The output actually sounds suprisingly good on our home stereo so it might find use there as an easy way to iPod-enable the home. I'll still be going with some type of hardwire or aux-in option for the car.
