Ipod Audio Link question?

Ok i just bought a 2004 rx8 gt. Came with what i assum is the Audio Link ipod adapter. Its black cord that iis in the glove compartment.

Im trying to play my ipod, iv found the generic instructions on the internet but for some reason. i cant play anything but the artists. its starts with A and moves down to EX6. I think i can go in circles for 6 more times and play the first 36 arists LoL. But i just want to play playlists. Any ideas to help me out/. Firmware is 9.55.

Thanks in advance.

do you know exactly what model it is? I am trying to buy an ipod adapter for my 8 but I'm doing a little research and have a found a few models. Problem is, some places say that they work for mazda, but then I called the company itself and they said they do not even have a model that works for Mazda...

Welcome to the wonderful world of the most frustrating accessory ever....

After playing the same few songs over, and over, and over, and over...

I found the instructions! HERE: http://www.finishlineperformance.com...user_guide.pdf

Note that to change from playlist mode to artist mode, etc... press the 'disc up' button twice in one second.

Now it ain't so bad.

Good luck

ps. to make the random work, I just made a massive playlist in iTunes - select that playlist, and you're good for days.

Has anyone heard of or tried this one?

http://www.al-eds.com/product.php?pr...cat=294&page=1

I asked the guys that worked at Al & Ed's and they said this one is a lot better than most. Then again he could be just trying to sell it to me. Too bad USA Spec doesn't make one for Mazda...

PLEASE need help ! Desperate to find a solution...

My Ipod xcartlink (audiolink) isnt working on my RX8 2004 (Radio v9.55)

I tried installing 2 different Ipod Xcartlink unit to my RX8 and it's not working.
My ipod is only charging but nothing happens when I press twice on the CD button ... it's like if the radio wasnt detecting new the AUX.

First I thought that the unit I pursached was defective, and I returned it, got a new one and I installed it with the guys that sell it and it's still not working.

ANY idea? I even tried contacting the manufacturer in China but he didnt really help yet...

Anyone experienced this kind of behavior?

It seems that im the only one since everyone managed to make it work from the 1st time pretty easily ...

I already removed the HU twice to try it with no success ...
(Thanks a lot for the explanation and all the details on how to remove the HU and how to find the "bolt", you guys are amazing! =) )
