iPhone & iTouch Mazda Adapter - You CAN control the iPod manually

Just a quick little tip for anyone who is using the Mazda OEM adapter but would like to control the iPod manually.

1) Connect your iPhone to the OEM adapter.

2) When you have an application open (works also at the home screen but you cannot tell it's working) hold the home button for about 10 seconds. This should kick you back out to the home screen. This shuts down all running applications.

3) Open up the iPod application again on the iPhone and start playing music like you would normally. You can control everything thru the iPhone iPod interface

NOTE: you do LOSE the steering wheel and dashboard controls if you do this until you unplug the iPhone and plug it back in.

Hi mcgregor129,

Well this would work on just the iPhone and iPod Touch.

However, I heard that you could do it with a regular iPod by some method of plugging it in, and switching to FM or something. I can't seem to find the thread now though.
