Interior night light effect

I have installed yesterday the interior night light effect (semi custom made) at 36.99$ Can bought at Canadian Tire (TwiNeon 9). The effect is amazing!

The package comes with 2 neon lights with a control unit that you plug in the cigarette lighter.

Here are the steps:

1) In installed the control unit in the center storage near the back where there is a cigarette lighter plug.

2) In order to run the wires to the front, I removed the plastic between the cup holder and the storage unit where is the cigarette lighter plug. It was really hard to remove because it has 2 screws. I don't know why they are there? Nothing fall off, the muffler is still there .

3) I passed the wires on the driver side and ran an extension because the wires were not enough long to go up to the front. The wires are hidden under the grey plastic that goes from the back to the front.

4) I left one neon on the driver side and the other one is passing under the dashboard to the passenger side (there is a little space that you can pass it)

5) I finally attached them with cable ties under the dashboard.

I have included the pictures as a support.

I totally dig it! I've been wanting to do this but haven't had time. Looks great and MUCH cheaper than the official "footwell lights." :D Where do you live? Wanna come over and install this for me?

This would make a great DIY!!

My car is red with the interior red/black so it is why I went with the red neon.

Are you still able to use the cigarette lighter? I use mine for my wireless iPOD thingamajiggy.

Also, is there a way to wire this so that it only comes on when you turn on the lights? I wouldn't really need them during the day. The hot blazing TX sun is plenty light enough.

Wink Been there.....

I put in the red ones, when I switched all the interior lights to red LEDs.

The red neons cast a pink glow.
They are ghey.
They are SO gone.

.....anybody want to buy a (ghey) set of red/pink footlights?
