Interest in DTM-style Aluminum shift ****?

Okay, I've finally had it with my stock shift **** in my RX-8. All of the replacements I'm finding are either *****, or "combat grip" knock-offs. I have a friend with a killer lathe, and am thinking about making my own 3" tall, straight sided, rounded top DTM shift ****. Would anyone else be interested in one?

The diameter would probably be 1 3/4", or similar in thickness to the stock triangle ****, and would probably taper (bevel) just a hair at the base. The top would be rounded, or flat with rounded edges.

If you're interested, send me a PM. I'm going to check and see what I can get round bar-stock aluminum for right now. Thanks!
Eric

Yes, similar to the Mazdaspeed piece, only made from aluminum instead of urethane and plastic. Perhaps more rounded on the top and slightly thicker in diameter. No Mazdaspeed logo, but I might be able to get the shift pattern on them.
